It takes time.

I just got a supervisor that I have worked for years with but never got a placement. It has been close several times but it has always missed. Finally, we got the placement done. After working together for at least eight years it's finally here.

I was curious about which song it was. And he sent me the whole brief. This must have been one of the first songs we ever sent to him. The band was a band that wanted everything very fast. They signed off an EP on to us talking that it would fit on a movie. After just four months they left us since we hadn't placed any of the songs. In reality, it's very rare to get a placement that fast. At the same time, they were always in a hurry and had kind of very strange opinions on what a publisher should do for them.

Now ten years later the song is placed. I had forgotten about the band and now I went out to see if they are still active. No, they have even tried to take off all traces of themselves online. No homepage, not even a Spotify account, and their SoundCloud is gone. But you can follow their hurry to jump to the next things. You can see them put out things to then take them off to put out the next. Changing manager and booking agency twice in one year. All gathered in small pockets of digital information they have forgotten to take off.

I wonder what would happen if the song now with the placement take off?

We don't have all the time in the world.

I can understand why artists become stressed about time. When they are releasing they can go nuts just becuse everything is not going as fast as they want to. Making them taking kind of irrational decsions. On the other hand between the releases, it seems like there is all the time in the word and nothing really happens.

It's like highest gear and then the slowest gear. There is nothing in between?

With these new systems, we have and the digital world we live in. A pattern like that is not very efficient. The releases are not that important that you think it is. The social media updates are not as important that you think it is. In the end, is how smart you communicate your message and in what way that counts.

You should not burn out yourself. At the same time you can't really have a vacation from what you are doing. The whole puzzle becomes quite strange.

I'm in the same situation. I feel my time is not enough. I don't have time to do things that I enjoy. Still, I need to keep up the brand and do the things I need to do. The solution is to take off the heavier time thieves. Now I'm just in the mood to find these time thieves and how I should select them.

Time

Had a great time here on Nouvelle Prague. Now I face the reality for next week.

How much I work on the phone when I'm out its never enough. Some things I can only fix from the home computer and yes they pile up after a long period of traveling.

So it will be to work this week from when I go up until I go to bed. And I guess I still won't recoupe to get to the status quo.

I really need a month where do The catch-up. And I need to get the time to through off the time killers that eat unnecessary time.

Use your time

When I look back on many careers I see that you often wait for something. Yes, you are probably young and time seems like something that you have plenty of. At the same time, you hear people say "times flies". And it does.

I lectured on a school a couple of years ago. Essentially you got two years at the school just to dig into your artist career. On top of that, you could apply for the third year. That is amazing I know. You think that it would be an easy task then if you had every day for two years just doing what you need to do for your carrier?

Here is the thing. Almost all of the students didn't pick up working hard with their careers when it was six months left of the second year! More or less they got kicked out just when things started to happen for them just to see that they didn't have the time to nurse their career. Why? Well after the two years tehy need to get jobs to support them and suddenly time was of shortage.

So what did they do the first 1,5 years? Most of them did just nothing. They figured out who they were, what style they like and they also thought they had plenty of time, two years is quite long. I only know one artist that actually took the whole two years and made a career and went big. The rest just faded away or came back with new projects later where they felt that time was against them.

What I'm trying to say is that you should not wait for everything. You need to do it right now. Everything you do will be a part of your journey, right or wrong. Still just do it like a slogan say. There is no time to wait.

A new trailer just came out of a TV series they recorded some years ago. Most music is actually from our company and Like Swimming appears as themselves in the series. I'm really happy it's getting out finally.
I was doing my debut as an actor in it as well. Or well, actor, extra is more like t. I was showing up as a janitor cleaning the floor. Unfortunately, that scene was cut off later. I guess I have to wait with my acting debut for now! Here is the trailer.
